Left Atrial Appendage Closure – Live‑in‑a‑Box at Angers University Hospital for the LAAO Club
For the 4th edition of the LAAO Club organized in Paris by Abbott, Popmyfilm filmed a real clinical case of left atrial appendage closure at Angers University Hospital. Presented as a “Live‑in‑a‑Box”, this educational film allows cardiologists to follow the procedure step by step and better understand its clinical, technical and human impact.
The project
To support knowledge sharing in interventional cardiology, Abbott commissioned Popmyfilm to produce an educational film documenting a left atrial appendage closure (LAAO).
Filmed in the operating room of Angers University Hospital with a four‑camera setup, the intervention was performed by Professor Wissam Abi Khalil with the participation of Professor Ole De Backer, a leading European expert in intracardiac echocardiography.
The objective was to capture the procedure step by step and highlight its benefits for both patients and healthcare teams. Presented during the 4th edition of the LAAO Club in Paris, the film serves as a training and knowledge‑sharing resource for the cardiology community.
